I am indebted to the lovely joana morais for bringing this video to my attention, and a powerful piece it is too. joana morais is a Portuguese national, a virulent anti-Madeleine and runs a blog entitled ‘The Maddie case Files.’ She is also the very personification of hypocrisy. On the one hand, she claims to be a champion of free speech, and vociferously defends the corrupt amaral’s right to publish his book of libellous comments under the right to freedom of speech. But woe betides anyone who dares to post a comment on her blog that is in any way critical of her beloved convicted ex-cop. If you were to try, or post a comment in support of the McCann’s you will be banned faster than bennett could run after any high publicity bandwagon! She is also vehemently against any and all websites or blogs that support the McCann’s, and continually tries to get such sites shut down, by any means possible. Yes, ms morais will support your rights to free speech till the cows come home, just as long as you say what she wants you to say.
Ironic, isn’t it, that this champion of free speech is now doing her very best to get this video removed from Youtube, simply because it does not toe the morais line, does not question the McCann’s version of events, and, shock horror, actually dares to suggest that evidence was planted by a certain convicted ex-cop! She even, believe it or not, claims it is racist! Racist!! Now, I challenge anyone to watch this video and find even a hint of racism anywhere in it. No, there is nothing in there but the truth. Like it or lump it jo, amaral has a conviction, and there is nothing you can do about it. But not only is she playing the racist card, she has complained to Amnesty International as well. No, really! You couldn’t make this up! Well jo, Amnesty International is already aware of your friend, and his fellow PJ cohorts, and this is what they have to say.
There were continued allegations of ill-treatment by law enforcement officials. In February, the UN Committee against Torture expressed its concern about reports of torture and other ill-treatment in prisons and the excessive use of force, including the use of firearms, by law enforcement officials. It also expressed concern at the acquisition of Taser weapons by law enforcement agencies, stating that the pain such weapons inflict constituted a form of torture.
* In October, the trial began of four police officers charged with torturing Leonor Cipriano in 2004 to obtain a confession that she had killed her daughter. Medical reports and photographs of Leonor Cipriano recorded extensive injuries after two days in police custody in Faro. Police officials said that she fell down a flight of stairs in the police station; however the Institute of Forensic Medicine stated that her injuries were not consistent with such an incident and were more in keeping with an assault. Leonor Cipriano said that she was punched, kicked, had a plastic bag placed over head, and was forced to kneel on glass ashtrays during interrogations. The trial was ongoing at the end of the year.
Another own goal from joana morais! Which is, in fact, what jo has done, in spectacular fashion, with her attempt to get this video pulled. If she had kept her big mouth shut, and ignored it, no one would have heard about it. But by stamping her little feet, and putting on her parts, trying to get it banned, she ensured it got more attention than Pamela Anderson walking naked down Kensington High Street. You, jo, are responsible for letting this particular genie out of the bottle, and as a result this video is now going all around the world, with many, many more people being shown the truth about this bullying cowardly thug. And that can only be a good thing for Madeleine.
Oh, and one more thing jo, I can think of many ways to describe a man who threatens to have the husband of his ex-lover shot, and their two year old daughter made to disappear, but honourable? Not on THIS planet.
