"Blacksmith you have summed it up good, but there is another factor to throw into the pot and that is now some people are piggy backing on the "pro" stance when their underlying agenda is to settle old scores. They could not justify coming out and saying I am having a pop at so and so because he/she removed my powers, they have to jump on the pro bandwagon and get their supporters hanging on their every word...
There are people in this that are having their personal and professional life's torn apart and facing wildly defamatory remarks and being accused of all sorts; from hacking to sending in henchmen so to speak. Yes I saw that forum and have been reading and the other forums and the most wildest theory they have come up with is that it is your forum and I sent you in to make it. If only they sat back and thought they would see that it is impossible. I do not know you as a person blacksmith, but as a poster, my impression of you is that you will say what you think whether it pleases or offends and you will not be forced into anything, to me your posts have always been honest, you have called a spade a spade and I know for a fact that you would never hide behind another alias.
The MO of this now has changed, for the past two years we have had the pro's united with just name calling, the verbal abuse to a username, and the verbal attacks on posters. But recently things have taken a sinister turn and they are out to destroy people's life's. Yes they could have continued on the old track but what used to happen is since the birth of the 3a's where they could not get away with their abuse and knew that the majority ofpeople on the forum would jeer and laugh at them and eventually they were banned. They were not getting anywhere, so they had to change tactics. Unfortunately due to Nbrado and the first database and then Beo with the second release, they got the information they needed. I wonder how many members did exchange their personal details, name, address, telephone etc by PM. If those PM's were on the database they got their info. The MO as I said has changed in the respect that they are now trying to turn anti on anti and cause distrust amongst the posters that you and I and everyone else know were solid posters and really out to find the truth about what happened to Madeleine.
The mindset of the "pro's" is now vicious, they hide behind keyboard and libel and defame everyone and anyone, they know the majority of posters are UK based and they know the UK libel laws and they know you need deep pockets to take them to court. That is their safety net. As I said previously add to this mindset a group of people that have personal scores to settle and you have a deadly cocktail.
The minset of the "anti's" in my opinion is they want the truth and are average people that just want to discuss the case, the majority remain focussed and do not want to be involved in forum wars or places where they slag people of. That is why they stick to a few people as targets because they know if they really went for actual posters and started to lay into them as they have others then it would escalate, that is something they can't afford to do.
But until you are on the receiving end of the campaign of hate by them, and you have received the threats, been accused of doing this that and the other, had your family exposed and been libelled and defamed in the most horrendous way then you can't say exactly how you would react. The trouble is now those people that are jumping on the "pro" bandwagon know those they want to attack weaknesses because they have got to know them on a personal level and that is what they are using to attack in such a horrendous way.
No matter how much the McCann's try and shout innocence their actions will be the down fall of them, their complete contempt at not accepting responsibility for their own actions. Their insistence to play the victim and demand money.
Sometimes I don't have a clue as to what is the way forward with this case, one minute I have faith in truth and justice next it is dashed because of what seems to me political interference. Personally I think those that cast doubt on the McCann's, their friends are still at the bottom of the hill with a bombardment of spin, lies and people trying to stop us from getting further up the hill.
Sometimes we walk through life blinded by other's suffering and it only affects us when it directly involves us, forum administrators have a huge responsibility and sometimes they don't know which way to turn, they know if they please one group of posters it will offend another, they try their hardest to remain as neutral as possible and base their decisions on fairness, but after all we are only human and we do make mistakes. But to be honest, I do not think it would hurt any poster to have a wander around the cyberworld and read what is really going on and then perhaps they will understand how frustrated, battle weary and upset those that try to mod forums and bring forums to people feel.
Yes on the old 3a's I made mistakes, I took rash decisions and did things that on reflection was absolutely stupid but at the time I felt I was backed into a corner and fighting for survival and wanting to destroy before I got destroyed. That is a primitive instinct to fight for survival. But there is only going to be one motto I will abide by and that is the truth will prevail. I will not lie, I will not embellish but I will speak the truth no matter who it pleases or offends and I will not be silenced. Throw all you got because it is going to take a lot more than what you are throwing at me now to stop me.
I am not interested in post counts, I am not interested in member numbers, I am not interested in becoming the best place on the internet, I am only interested in truth and justice."
