It’s been a week or so since the shocking revelation that a convicted paedophile was a moderator on a forum that targeted the McCanns; the parents of a missing child.
I’ve been waiting for the members of that forum to express their horror, their revulsion, their disbelief. It never came.
I waited for the denials, the challenges that the information cannot be true. They never came.
It seems this knowledge was known to many of those members. It seems they knew and carried on allowing a paedophile to post and to whip up support for the hate campaign against the parents of an abducted child. They even exalted him to moderator. He’s still posting.
This is the board, don’t forget, that thought nothing of reading members private emails. So a moderator, who had access to private messages of all members, was a convicted paedophile. I think the former members of that forum should think deeply about that: What information did you divulge about your children in private messages. Would any of you be happy knowing that a convicted paedophile had access to that? You would trust him not to pass it on to ‘friends’? Are you feeling safe about the security of your family now?
How do you feel about the fact that your admin and her cohorts seem not to be horrified by this revelation? They seem to have known all along. They made him a moderator where he boasted about port scanning for IPs. This is the admin team that tracked down anyone who they felt was a threat, who they felt couldn’t be trusted. Are you feeling safe about the security of your family now?
This is the forum who Mr Bennett proudly acknowledged as being the source of the leaflet he sent to every MP in the country. The leaflet he donated to the Select Committee. The forum with a convicted paedophile as a moderator. Mr Bennett too has been eerily silent about the revelation.
Just in case any of you are desensitised to the word paedophile and think that this man did nothing more harmful than drop litter, let me remind you of today’s headlines about Vanessa George and Colin Blanchard: A couple who only ever met online yet managed to create a paedophile ring.
‘George, a qualified special needs coordinator, was arrested earlier this year for sexually assaulting babies and children aged around two, photographing the abuse, and sending the images to Colin Blanchard, the ‘Facebook friend’ to whom she sent thousands of messages and photographs.
She admitted taking up to eight pictures a day while on duty.
George was obsessed with IT salesman Blanchard, telling him she was his ‘paedo whore mumma’.’
Poor Vanessa; if only the admin of the forum with the pedophile and her team had been on the jury, then she would have been cleared, cheered, patted on the back, made a moderator and sworn allegiance to hating the parents of a missing child. No nasty indeterminate sentence, suicide watch or isolation from other prisoners wanting to dissect her.
So, once again, how happy are all you former members about the safety of your children now? Are you happy to sit down and tell your spouse what you have exposed your family to?
